Caterina Murino is an Italian actress who has starred in many films but she is most recognised internationally for her role as ‘Solange’ James Bond’s Girlfriend who he visits and spends time with in the city in the movie Casino Royale.
Caterina was born in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy on September 15th 1977. She loved to dance from a very early ages and often practices the Tango and Flamenco in her spare time as well as professionally. In 1996 she entered the ‘Miss Italy Contest’ and reached fourth place.
From 1999-2002 Caterina studied drama at the Cinema of Theatre of Francesca de Sapio. During her time there she starred in various different Italian language plays and stage productions including ‘Richard III’.
She embarked upon a career in TV in 2002 and appeared in many Italian shows including ‘Part Time’ and ‘Des Jours Et Des Nuits’. Soon after this she turned her attention towards acting on the big screen and after a few small parts in lesser known films such as ‘Les Bronzes 3’ her big break finally came in 2006 when she took on the brilliant role of ‘Solange’ James Bond’s girlfriend in the hit movie ‘Casino Royale’.
Her role in the movie brought her much media attention and she featured on several magazine covers and interviews.
Caterina Murino currently lives in Paris and speaks many languages including French, Italian, English and Spanish.
